The Delhi Cabinet has approved the second amendment to the Delhi Solar Energy Policy, 2023. Under the amendment, domestic consumers with an average monthly electricity consumption of up to 400 units can get rooftop solar systems of up to 3 kW installed free of cost.
Furthermore, the Delhi government will provide a capital subsidy of Rs 78,000 in addition to the Rs 78,000 subsidy available from the central government. It will also provide an additional top-up to cover the difference between the subsidies and the tendered cost of the solar plant.
Earlier, in June 2026, the Union Cabinet approved a two-year scheme to support the replacement of old trucks and buses in the Delhi-NCR region. The scheme aims to curb air pollution in the Delhi-NCR region and promote cleaner mobility.
