IRFC signs Rs 42 billion loan agreement with DVC 

Indian Railway Finance Corporation Limited (IRFC), a Navratna central public sector enterprise under the Ministry of Railways, has signed a Rs 42 billion term loan agreement with Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC). The loan will be utilised to finance renewable energy projects across Jharkhand and West Bengal.

Moreover, the loan will finance DVC’s floating solar, ground-mounted solar and rooftop solar projects, along with battery energy storage system projects. These projects will make use of DVC’s existing land, reservoirs and transmission infrastructure.

Earlier, in March 2025, IRFC secured a bid to extend a rupee term loan of Rs 75 billion to NTPC Green Energy Limited. Additionally, it lent Rs 31 billion to a thermal power generation subsidiary of NTPC.
