THDC India Limited, a subsidiary of NTPC Limited, has declared the commercial operation of the fourth unit of the Tehri pumped storage project (PSP) in Uttarakhand. The Tehri PSP has a total planned capacity of 1,000 MW, comprising four units of 250 MW each. The unit, with a capacity of 250 MW, commenced operation on April 12, 2026.
Moreover, following this development, the total installed capacity of NTPC Limited has reached 89,378 MW. Additionally, THDC India Limited’s total installed capacity has reached 3,907 MW.
In December 2025, THDC India Limited commissioned 250 MW Unit-3 of the 1 GW Tehri PSP in Uttarakhand.
