NHPC Limited has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with GRIDCO Odisha, Government of Odisha, for development of pumped storage projects (PSPs) and renewable energy in Odisha. The MoU envisages setting up self-identified pumped storage projects of at least 2,000 MW and renewable energy projects of at least 1,000 MW in the state.
In June 2023, NHPC Limited issued a request for proposals to identify developers for 3,000 MW of interstate transmission system (ISTS)-connected solar power projects across the country. According to the tender guidelines, the bidders must submit offers for a minimum capacity of 50 MW and subsequent multiples of 10 MW.
Also, in the same month, NHPC Limited and Kerala State Electricity Board Limited (KSEB) signed a MoU under which NHPC will provide consultancy services to KSEB as its owner’s engineer for vetting of design of KSEB’s ongoing projects as well as of projects in the pipeline.
