The Government of West Bengal has allotted about 54.20 acres of land to Websol Energy System Limited at Falta Industrial Park in Kolkata for its planned greenfield solar manufacturing facility. The facility will have 4 GW of solar cell and module manufacturing capacity. The project will be developed in two phases, with each phase having 2 GW of capacity.
Furthermore, the new facility is planned at a location close to Websol’s existing manufacturing facility at the Falta Special Economic Zone in West Bengal. The existing facility has a solar cell manufacturing capacity of 1,200 MW and a module manufacturing capacity of 550 MW and can process wafers of up to 210 mm.
Earlier in February 2026, Websol Energy System Limited secured three purchase orders for solar modules with a combined capacity of 85.5 MW, valued at approximately Rs 1.72 billion, with deliveries scheduled by May 2026.
