The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has issued a request for proposals to select vendors to develop up to 5 MW of rooftop and ground-mounted solar power projects. The projects will fall into two categories. First category is for the residential sector on behalf of state implementing agencies. Second category is for government organisations under capital expenditure and renewable energy service company modes. According to the tender guidelines, the appointed vendors must also oversee the overall operation and maintenance of the projects for a period of five years.
In the Rooftop Solar Program Phase II, SECI will only conduct the first stage of empanelment for the residential sector. The state implementing agency that will approve and sanction projects will conduct the second stage bidding process. The first stage of the second category bidding process will involve issuing a limited tender to empaneled vendors. The deadline for bid submissions is May 18, 2023.
Recently, SECI floated bids to establish a 100 MW (AC) floating solar photovoltaic project at Getalsud Dam in Jharkhand’s Ranchi district. The contractor’s scope of work includes floating solar project’s design, engineering, supply, construction, erection, testing, and commissioning, as well as ten years of plant operation and maintenance. The project will take 18 months to complete including commissioning after the contract is awarded.
