GridStor and Axpo have signed an energy storage agreement for the 220 MW/440 MWh Hidden Lakes Reliability Project in Galveston County, Texas. The battery energy storage system (BESS) project has been operational since the fourth quarter of 2025. Furthermore, the agreement will help provide price predictability to retail electricity customers in the Houston area.
GridStor manages a portfolio of 530 MW/1,300 MWh of battery energy storage systems that are either operational or under construction, along with a development pipeline exceeding 3 GW of projects in advanced stages across the western and central US. The company is focused on delivering and executing cost-efficient, near-term energy storage solutions for utilities, data centers, and large industrial consumers.
In November 2025, Axpo finished constructing a 200 MWp solar complex in León province in Spain, comprising four 50 MWp solar plants located across Villadangos del Páramo and Cimanes de Tejar. The Vilecha complex spans more than 360 hectares and is scheduled to begin supplying electricity to Spain’s national grid by the end of the first quarter of 2026. The combined output of the complex is expected to exceed 377,000 MWh annually.
