EDF Power Solutions North America and the New York Power Authority (NYPA) have announced a partnership for the development of the 240 MW Rich Road solar project in Canton, St. Lawrence County, New York. Under the partnership, NYPA, through its wholly owned subsidiary New York Renewable Energy Development Holdings Corporation, will hold a 51 per cent majority stake in the project, while EDF Power Solutions will remain a minority owner.
EDF Power Solutions will support the project’s development and oversee construction of the solar array across the 1,400-acre site. Furthermore, the project is expected to begin construction in late 2027 and start operations in 2029. Once operational, it will contribute to NYPA’s Renewable Energy Access and Community Help programme, which provides electricity bill credits to low-income New Yorkers.
Earlier, in September 2026, EDF Power Solutions North America achieved financial close on the Utah Solar 1 project in Millard County, Utah. The project has an installed capacity of 394 MWdc/300 MWac and is expected to enter full construction, with power delivery expected to commence in mid-2027.
