Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi has laid foundation stones for infrastructure projects worth Rs 51.25 billion in Arunachal Pradesh. This includes two hydropower projects, namely Tato-I with a capacity of 186 MW and Heo with a capacity of 240 MW.
Furthermore, these projects will be developed jointly by the Arunachal Pradesh government and the North Eastern Electric Power Corporation Limited on the Yarjep river in the Shi Yomi district. The Tato-I project is estimated to produce 802 million units of power each year, whereas the Heo project is expected to deliver around 1,000 million units annually.
Earlier in May 2025, Patel Engineering Limited was awarded a contract worth Rs 7.11 billion by North Eastern Electric Power Corporation Limited for the execution of the 240 MW Heo hydropower project.
