NTPC announces auction results for 1,200 MW wind-solar hybrid projects

NTPC Limited has announced the auction results for its 1,200 MW wind-solar hybrid (Hybrid 02) projects connected to the inter-state transmission system (ISTS), with an additional greenshoe option of up to 600 MW.  JSP Green (Jindal Renewables) secured 350 MW at a tariff of Rs 3.38 per kWh. Adyant Enersol (Datta Infra), Green Prairie Energy IV (EverGreen Power), and AMPIN Energy Utility were awarded 150 MW, 200 MW, and 150 MW, respectively, at a tariff of Rs 3.44 per kWh. Adani Renewable Energy Holding Twelve (Adani Green) won 350 MW at Rs 3.44 per kWh under the bucket-filling method.

The tender, floated in August 2024, stipulated a minimum project size of 50 MW with increments in multiples of 10 MW thereafter. The maximum capacity allotted to a single bidder was capped at 600 MW, excluding additional capacity under the greenshoe option. Projects were required to maintain a 30 per cent capacity utilisation factor. Eligible wind turbines must be type-certified models listed in the MNRE’s Revised List of Models and Manufacturers. Solar photovoltaic modules for the projects must be included in the MNRE’s List-I under the Approved Models and Manufacturers of Solar Photovoltaic Modules.

In December 2024, NTPC Renewable Energy Limited invited bids for the Balance of System (BOS) package for a 1,200 MW ISTS-connected solar project located in the Rann of Kutch, Gujarat.
