NTPC REL floats tender for the supply and installation of WTGs for 813 MW wind project

NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL) has issued a tender for the supply and installation of wind turbine generators (WTGs) for an interstate transmission system-connected wind project in Bellary, Karnataka. The project has a nominal capacity of 813 MW (271 WTGs).

According to the tender guidelines, the scope of work covers the design, engineering, manufacture, supply, erection, installation testing, commissioning of WTGs listed in the ALMM (Wind) and with a rating of 3 MW or above. It also includes establishing the guaranteed performance parameters for the entire wind power project through the installation of the offered WTGs, along with control panels, SCADA, and associated control systems and software. The scope further entails detailed design, engineering, supply, erection, testing, and commissioning of unit substations for each WTG, along with all electrical works required for grid integration.

The selected bidders will also undertake erection and installation works, including civil works such as foundations for WTGs and unit substations, as well as control cabins near the tower base, if required. Additionally, the scope covers providing 10 years of operations and maintenance services for the supplied system, including WTGs and the unit substations, starting from the commissioning of the project. The bid submission deadline is May 1, 2026.

Earlier this month, NTPC REL executed a green ammonia purchase agreement with the Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited under which it will supply 70,000 tonnes per annum of green ammonia to Krishna Phoschem Limited, in Meghnagar, Madhya Pradesh.
