SECI floats tender for the development of grid-connected rooftop solar PV projects 

The Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) has floated a tender to select solar project developers for the development of 4,455 kW of grid-connected rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) projects. The projects will be developed under the renewable energy service company (RESCO) model. 

According to the tender guidelines, the scope of work for the solar power developer covers obtaining a no-objection certificate from the distribution company (discom) for grid connectivity. It also covers the complete design, engineering, supply, storage, civil work, erection, testing, and commissioning of the project. The developer will also provide operations and maintenance services for the project for the term of the power purchase agreement. The solar power developer will also obtain net-metering and grid connectivity for the project.

The projects have been divided into two categories: Category A and Category B. The successful bidder must submit a performance bank guarantee at the rate of Rs 3,375 per kW for Category A projects and Rs 3,715 per kW for Category B projects. The selected bidder must also pay service charges of Rs 1,350 per kW for Category A projects and Rs 1,485 per kW for Category B projects. The bid submission deadline is May 14, 2026.
