Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP), a Danish investment company, has collaborated with Viviid Renewables, an Indian company, to construct more than 1.8 GW of renewable energy capacity in India. CIP signed the agreement via its Copenhagen Infrastructure New Markets Fund I (CI NMF I). The initial focus of the partners will be on creating two onshore wind farms with a combined capacity of more than 500 MW. The remaining capacity will be developed and built by CI NMF’s successor funds.
Viviid has agreed to provide both key development activities up to a final investment decision and projects from its development pipeline. As part of the projects, the company has also agreed to provide design, engineering, procurement, and construction services. Utilising Viviid’s local expertise, CIP will be responsible for offtake sourcing, general procurement activities, and the financing process.
In February 2023, Amberside Energy and the Flagship Funds of Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) joined forces to build 2 GW of solar and battery storage capacity in the UK. As per the agreement, Flagship Funds would provide the necessary funds for the development of these projects, subject to investment decisions.
