Neha Agrawal: Senior Vice-President, Corporate Strategy, Vikram Solar

With over a decade of experience spanning enterprise risk management and strategy, including four years at E&Y advising across consumer goods, manufacturing, power and real estate, Neha Agrawal has built a career at the intersection of governance and growth. As the senior vice-president of corporate strategy at Vikram Solar, she leads the company’s long-term strategic agenda at one of the most consequential moments in the global energy transition. She has been central to formulating the company’s corporate strategy, building frameworks that align Vikram Solar’s growth trajectory with the rapidly shifting demands of the solar market.

According to her, regulations such as the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers List II and III represent a fundamental shift in how domestic solar manufacturing will be governed and procured. For her, the strategic question is not simply what these policies mandate, but what they make possible. She has been actively involved in interpreting these frameworks and embedding their implications into Vikram Solar’s long-term planning, identifying where the company needs to invest, what capabilities must be built ahead of the curve, and how evolving procurement norms can be turned into a durable competitive advantage.

“The most exciting part for me is sitting at the intersection of strategy and execution, translating a long-term vision into concrete plans. Being part of the solar sector at such a pivotal juncture, a space that is constantly evolving with policy shifts, technological advancements and market dynamics, makes the journey both challenging and incredibly rewarding,” she says.

She describes her style as structured yet adaptive, rooted in the discipline of her risk and governance background, but oriented towards enabling teams rather than directing them. “I focus on asking the right questions rather than dictating answers, that is how you build ownership,” she adds.

Going forward, her focus is on positioning Vikram Solar at the forefront of India’s solar manufacturing evolution, deepening the company’s presence across the value chain, strengthening its global competitiveness as policy tailwinds accelerate domestic capacity.

Outside the boardroom, she is an avid reader of business, leadership and geopolitical literature. These topics sharpen her clarity and increases curiosity – a must for her professional work around strategy. Her personal goal is equally grounded: to be a leader who leaves things better than she found them, whether by building stronger teams, mentoring future strategy professionals, or contributing to decisions that meaningfully advance India’s clean energy journey.
