UNSW and KREDL ink MoU for clean energy collaboration

The University of New South Wales (UNSW) and Karnataka Renewable Energy Development Limited (KREDL) have entered into an MoU to support the transition towards clean and renewable energy. The MoU outlines key areas of cooperation, including facilitating bilateral exchange opportunities and establishing a renewable energy startup incubator in Karnataka.

Additionally, the collaboration will focus on structured capacity building initiatives for startups through UNSW Founders. It will also enable mutual access to markets, innovation ecosystems and research infrastructure in both Australia and India. Moreover, the partnership will encourage joint engagement among researchers, universities and industry stakeholders across the two countries.

Nadathur S. Raghavan Centre for Entrepreneurial Learning (NSRCEL), the startup incubation and entrepreneurship hub of IIM Bangalore, will serve as the incubation and programme delivery partner, supporting accelerator programmes and enabling investor linkages. Indian Institute of Science (IISc) will contribute research and deep-tech support, including access to advanced laboratories and technical validation capabilities for emerging energy technologies. Both NSRCEL and IISc will also provide guidance on startup selection and mentorship as part of the overall initiative.
