Premier Energies Limited and RCT India, part of RCT Group, Germany, have signed a binding term sheet to form a joint venture (JV) to set up a 12 GWh battery energy storage system (BESS) manufacturing facility in Telangana. The facility will be developed through Premier Energies’ subsidiary, Premier Battery Technologies Private Limited, with the first phase planned at 6 GWh.
Furthermore, the facility will cater to BESS demand from commercial, industrial, and utility-scale applications in India and international markets. Additionally, it will be developed as an export-oriented manufacturing platform to serve international markets from India. Premier Energies will bring its manufacturing capabilities, while RCT will contribute its energy-sector experience, engineering, and international supply-chain network.
Earlier, in July 2026, Premier Energies Limited inaugurated a 5.6 GW solar module manufacturing facility at Seetharampur in Rangareddy, Telangana. The facility is equipped with G12R TOPCon module manufacturing lines and includes a zero bus bar manufacturing unit, along with automated guided vehicle-based material movement and artificial intelligence-based quality inspection systems.
