NavPrakriti Green Energies Private Limited (NavPrakriti) has commenced operations of an advanced lithium-ion battery recycling plant, located near Kolkata. The new recycling facility operates on cutting-edge indigenous technology developed by the Centre for Materials for Electronics Technology.
Furthermore, the facility is envisioned to become a hub that caters to responsible battery disposal and critical mineral recovery in these underserved states of eastern India, such as West Bengal, Odisha, Jharkhand, Bihar, and Chhattisgarh. It is a direct response to the Rs 15 billion scheme for battery recycling and refining, announced under the National Critical Mineral Mission.
NavPrakriti is Eastern India’s first large-scale lithium-ion battery recycling and refurbishment company. It provides end-to-end solutions spanning collection, recycling, refining, and second-life battery manufacturing. The company’s mission is to transform end-of-life batteries into raw materials for the next generation of cells, making India self-reliant in critical battery materials.
