Germany’s Federal Network Agency has announced the results of its August 2026 onshore wind auction. A total of 461 bids totalling 5,250 MW were submitted while the auction offered 2,520 MW, making the auction significantly oversubscribed. A total of 237 bids, totalling 2,523 MW were awarded, while 17 bids were excluded.
Furthermore, the successful bids ranged from 4.49-4.98 cents per kWh, with the average weighted award price falling to 4.79 cents per kWh, down from the previous auction round, which had an average weighted award price of 5.06 cents per kWh. Lower Saxony was awarded the largest share at 836 MW, followed by North Rhine-Westphalia with 430 MW and Rhineland-Palatinate with 336 MW.
In August 2026, Germany’s Federal Network Agency announced the results of the oversubscribed auction held in July 2026 for ground-mounted and non-building solar photovoltaic installations. The auction offered a total capacity of 2,135 MW. A total of 401 bids representing 3,170 MW were submitted, of which 48 bids were disqualified with 261 bids being successful in the pay-as-bid auction.
