Gorakhpur Haryana Anu Vidyut Pariyojana, which is a unit of Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL), has commissioned a 1.7 MWp grid-connected solar power plant at its nuclear facility in Haryana. It is a ground-mounted, grid-connected solar photovoltaic plant spanning 2,000 square meters. The project has been developed with a total capital investment of around Rs 0.08 billion, which consists of a five-year comprehensive operations and maintenance contract.
The project is built by utilising domestically manufactured mono PERC solar modules rated at 545 W each. Further, it is expected to produce around 2.53 million units (kWh) of electricity annually.
Additionally, at the present state-regulated tariff of Rs 6.55 per unit, the facility is expected to save approximately Rs 0.01 billion in power purchase costs each year, achieving payback in about 5.8 years. Over its lifespan of 25 years, the project is anticipated to deliver total savings of over Rs 0.4 billion.
