RIL to invest in 10 GW of solar energy projects in Andhra Pradesh

Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) has announced plans to establish a 10 GW project in solar energy projects in Andhra Pradesh. The latest commitment comes in lieu of the company’s announcement to build 10 GW of renewable energy capacity in Uttar Pradesh.

The second round of the PLI Scheme for solar manufacturing has reportedly received bids from eleven companies, including Reliance, Shirdi Sai, First Solar, Tata Power Solar, Vikram Solar, Waaree Energies, ReNew Solar, Avaada, JSW Renewable, Ampin Solar, and Green Energy, with a budgetary layout of Rs 195 billion. Reliance and Shirdi Sai Electricals each submitted bids for 6 GW, while First Solar applied for 3.4 GW.

In February 2023, Olectra Greentech introduced a hydrogen bus developed in technical collaboration with Reliance. The project aims to commercialise the carbon-free alternative to traditional public transportation within a year. Reportedly, the hydrogen bus is a fully carbon-free alternative to traditional public transportation.
