Reliance inks green ammonia offtake agreement with Samsung

Reliance Industries Limited has inked a long-term supply and purchase agreement (SPA) with Samsung C&T Corporation, South Korea. The agreement covers the supply of green ammonia for a period of 15 years, beginning in the second half of the financial year 2029. Valued at over $3 billion, it is reportedly one of the largest binding long-term green ammonia off-take agreements globally.

Furthermore, the SPA reflects India’s growing role as an exporter of green fuels supported by a domestic, end-to-end value chain, including local manufacturing of key clean energy equipment. It is aligned with the objectives of India’s National Green Hydrogen Mission.

Earlier in August 2025, Reliance Infrastructure Limited secured a letter of award from NHPC for the development of an interstate transmission system connected solar power project integrated with a battery energy storage system.
