Karnataka issues tender for 100 MW solar with 130 MWh BESS

Karnataka Renewable Energy Development Limited (KREDL) has issued a request for proposals for selection of a developer to commission a 100 MW grid-connected ground-mounted solar project and a 50 MW/130 MWh battery energy storage system. To be located in Kalaburagi district of Karnataka, the project has been estimated to cost Rs 5.63 billion.

According to the tender guidelines, the bidders are required to furnish Rs 56.3 million as an earnest money deposit. Within 20 days of receiving the letter of award, the developer is required to submit 5 per cent of the awarded value as a performance bank guarantee. The developer will be responsible for the power evacuation from the solar project to the designated 400/220kV KPTCL substation in Firozabad, Kalaburagi, located 2 km from the specified land parcel. The developer is required to connect the solar project to the 220kV side of the 400/220kV KPTCL substation in Firozabad. The bid submission deadline is August 16, 2024.

The developer must cover any applicable charges and energy losses up to the point of delivery. Furthermore, KREDL has mandated the use of indigenously manufactured solar modules listed in the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers.
