Nissan promotes solar energy to its electric vehicle owners in Japan

Nissan Motor Company Limited has collaborated with Ecosystem Japan Company Limited to promote free solar panel installations for owners of Nissan’s new 100 per cent electric vehicle (EV) “LEAF” in Japan. According to Nissan, the new LEAF owners signing up for Ecosystem’s “personal electricity” plan will qualify for the free installation of a solar power generation system. In addition, LEAF owners will get a discount on the “Daytime Assist Plan” under which users are encouraged to charge their EVs during the day using electricity from solar panels, or at night when demand for grid power is low.
