Emmvee has commissioned a 1 MW solar rooftop plant at its manufacturing facility in Dabaspet, Karnataka. The company manufactures two photovoltaic module categories with sizes ranging from 250 W to 330 W, along with solar water heaters at its Dabaspet facility, which has a production capacity of 500 MW. The rooftop solar plant will power the manufacturing processes at the facility, which is spread across 25,000 square metres and uses one of the most modern production lines in the country. This development aims at sustainable production by utilising sophisticated processes and eco-friendly raw material.
The company won three power projects with a cumulative capacity of 40 MW in various auctions in Karnataka. The projects will be developed by Emmvee at a cost of about Rs 2.8 billion.
Emmvee has formed a joint venture (JV) with Reddy’s Lab, Hyderabad to install a solar power plant at their facility. To this end, the two companies have come together to form a JV that will operate and maintain the power plant and supply power exclusively to their facilities. The total capacity of the solar power plant is 15 MW.
