Enel has completed the acquisition of a solar portfolio from Excelsior Energy Capital for approximately $760 million in US. The projects have a combined installed capacity of 810 MW and are expected to generate around 1.6 TWh of electricity annually. The acquisition, funded through Enel’s operating cash flows, is expected to increase its ordinary EBITDA by approximately $90 million annually.
Furthermore, the transaction forms part of agreements signed in February 2026 for acquiring over 1 GW of wind and solar capacity, with an enterprise value of about $1.3 billion. The remaining 205 MW of wind capacity is expected to close by the fourth quarter of 2026. Following the completion, Enel is expected to have over 13 GW of renewable wind, solar and storage capacity in North America.
In May 2026, Enel S.p.A., through its subsidiary Enel Green Power North America, signed an agreement with a US utility to acquire a portfolio of seven operational solar PV plants with a combined capacity of about 270 MW. The agreement has an enterprise value of approximately $140 million. The acquisition will be financed through cash flows generated from current operations. The portfolio is expected to generate approximately 0.4 TWh of electricity annually.
