RRECL invites bids for 900 MW Rampura PSP 

Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation Limited (RRECL) has invited bids for the selection of a developer to establish a 900 MW/5,400 MWh pumped storage project (PSP) at Rampura in Tonk district, Rajasthan, capable of generating power for six hours on a daily basis. The project will be developed through public-private partnership through tariff-based competitive bidding. The online bid submission deadline is November 30, 2026. 

According to the tender guidelines, the selected developer will be responsible for the complete development of the project, including planning, design, engineering, financing, preparation of the detailed project report, procurement of equipment, construction, installation, testing and commissioning. This includes obtaining the necessary statutory and regulatory clearances, environmental and forest approvals, grid connectivity and power evacuation infrastructure, along with developing the required water infrastructure, reservoirs, access roads and associated facilities. Furthermore, the developer will operate and maintain the project under the build, own, operate and transfer model for 40 years from the scheduled commencement of supply date, as specified in the pumped storage purchase agreement. 

The bidders are required to submit a bid security of Rs 1.08 billion in the form of a bank guarantee or insurance surety bond, along with a tender processing fee of Rs 2.36 million including GST. According to the technical eligibility conditions, bidders are required to have experience in hydro generation and/or lift irrigation projects, specifically dams, reservoirs, or tunnels, where each individual eligible project has a minimum cost exceeding Rs 3 billion and the total cumulative project cost exceeds Rs 54 billion. For financial eligibility, bidders must demonstrate a minimum net worth of Rs 10.8 billion at the close of the reference financial year. Alternatively, bidders that are alternative investment funds must have a minimum cumulative assets under management of Rs 10.8 billion at the close of the last financial year.
