METLEN has acquired a 40 per cent stake in a special purpose vehicle (SPV) owned by Tsakos Group to jointly develop a hybrid renewable energy project in Greece. The project will comprise a 251.9 MW solar photovoltaic plant coupled with a 375 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS). The SPV will oversee the project’s development, construction, operation, energy management, and commercial management. METLEN will also be responsible for the construction as well as the energy and commercial management of the project.
In March 2026, PPC Group and METLEN Energy & Metals entered into a joint venture agreement to develop battery energy storage systems across Romania, Bulgaria and Italy. The agreement provides for the creation of a JV company in which both will hold an equal 50 per cent stake. The collaboration will focus on the development, construction and operation of a BESS portfolio with a total capacity of up to 1,500 MW/3,000 MWh.
In October 2025, METLEN entered into a 10-year power purchase agreement with ENGIE for the supply of power from six solar projects across the UK. The total capacity of the solar portfolio under the agreement is 235 MW, expected to deliver over 233 GWh of renewable electricity annually. The projects are being developed and implemented by METLEN’s M Renewables division.
