SJVN inaugurates 1 GW solar project in Rajasthan

SJVN’s 1,000 MW solar project in Rajasthan has been inaugurated. The project was developed by its renewable energy arm, SJVN Green Energy Limited, at an investment of approximately Rs 54.92 billion in Pachapadra, Rajasthan. The power generated will be supplied to Rajasthan, Uttarakhand and Jammu & Kashmir, with allocations of 500 MW, 200 MW and 300 MW, respectively.

The project is expected to generate approximately 2,454.84 MUs of electricity in its first year of operation, and around 56,482.14 MU of clean energy over its 25-year operational life. It is estimated to reduce nearly 2.79 billion kgs of carbon emissions over its lifetime. Furthermore, it has been developed using around 2.42 million domestic content requirement solar modules and nearly 1,750 million solar cells.

In July 2026, SJVN Limited signed a power purchase agreement with BluPine Energy for the supply of 150 MW of assured peak power under the SJVN FDRE-4 tender. The agreement has a tenure of 25 years and was signed at a tariff of Rs 6.74 per unit.
