The Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) has announced the results of its auction to set up 5,665 kW rooftop solar projects across 14 government buildings under the RESCO model (Tranche-VIII). GH2 Solar secured the highest allocated capacity, winning 1,200 kW at a tariff of Rs 3.00 per kWh, 1,000 kW at Rs 3.04 per kWh, and 300 kW at a tariff of Rs 3.13 per kWh. Mateshwari Bus Operations secured 280 kW at Rs 2.97 per kWh, 750 kW at Rs 3.06 per kWh, and 85 kW at Rs 3.15 per kWh. Solaris Electrical Services won 450 kW at Rs 3.65 per kWh and 205 kW at Rs 3.80 per kWh. Additionally, GP Eco Solutions India secured 255 kW at Rs 3.48 per kWh and 115 kW at Rs 3.65 per kWh, while Kaho Solar won 415 kW at Rs 3.79 per kWh across two different project locations, and Stockwell Solar Services secured 160 kW at Rs 3.97 per kWh. The tender was issued in January 2026.
The projects will be set up across Delhi, Haryana, Jharkhand, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Telangana, and Uttar Pradesh. Furthermore, the scope of work includes design, engineering, supply, storage, civil works, erection, testing, and commissioning of the rooftop systems, along with operations and maintenance for the entire duration of the power purchase agreement (PPA). The commissioning timeline is set at seven months from the effective date of the PPA, while the maximum permissible timeline, including penalties, extends to six months beyond the scheduled commissioning date.
Moreover the developers are required to use modules and cells listed under the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers, with performance warranties ensuring at least 90 per cent output at the end of 10 years and 80 per cent at the end of 25 years, along with a minimum 10-year warranty against material and workmanship defects.
