Manish Gupta started his entrepreneurial journey in 2001 by founding Fluidcon Engineers, a trading firm supplying pipes, valves and fittings. He led the company for 25 years, gaining experience in operations, business strategy and team building. Later, he founded Insolation Energy Limited (INA Solar), a solar panel manufacturer. He also serves as the founder president of the North India Module Manufacturers Association and co-chair of the FICCI Rajasthan State Council.
What excites him the most professionally is being part of a sector that is actively shaping India’s sustainable future. “India has immense solar potential, and with the push from government policies, the sector is growing at an incredible pace. Being involved in this space gives me a sense of purpose. It feels like I am not just working, but contributing to economic and environmental impact. At INA Solar, I see this vision turning into reality every day. With three advanced manufacturing facilities in Jaipur and a combined capacity of 5.5 GW, we are playing our part in reducing carbon footprints and moving India closer to energy independence,” says Gupta.
According to him, promoting domestic manufacturing requires building investor confidence and enabling business to compete globally. This calls for consistent policies, simplified processes, improved access to finance and strong skill development. “Growth must remain sustainable, aligning with India’s net zero goals. Sectors like solar play a key role, and initiatives such as the PM Surya Ghar Yojana are driving grassroots demand and strengthening domestic manufacturing,” he says.
Gupta sees his role as both a leader and a mentor. He provides clear direction while empowering his team to take ownership of their work. He believes that trust and value can encourage initiative and innovation, while accountability ensures alignment with organisational goals. Gupta holds a BTech degree. He enjoys reading books and journals on environmental studies, politics and history, which help him stay informed about sustainability, policy decisions and lessons from the past. Reading offers perspective, clarity and insights that influence his professional decisions.
“Going ahead, I aim to be part of our expansion journey in an impactful way. With upcoming developments such as the new manufacturing facility in Narmadapuram, Madhya Pradesh – featuring a 4.5 GW solar cell unit and an aluminium frame unit with an annual capacity of 18,000 metric tonnes – I see a great opportunity to enhance our capabilities and meet the rising demand for solar energy in India,” says Gupta.
