The Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL) has announced the results of its 625 MWp solar power auction. Welspun Energy and NLC India Limited emerged as the winners, securing capacities of 300 MW each at a tariff of Rs 2.34 per unit.
As per the tender guidelines, the selected developers will implement the projects on a build-own-operate basis at suitable locations nationwide. Solar modules for the projects are required to be sourced from the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy’s Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM List-I). Furthermore, these modules, in turn, are required to use cells from models and manufacturers listed under the ALMM List-II for solar cells.
Earlier in January 2026, GUVNL announced the results of its auction for 250 MW wind power projects (Phase-X) in which Patel Infrastructure and Alfanar Power emerged as winners, securing 100 MW and 50 MW, respectively, at a quoted tariff of Rs 3.43 per kWh each. Furthermore, KP Energy and Powerica both secured a capacity of 50 MW at a tariff of Rs 3.44 per kWh each.
