Origis Energy and Meta ink solar PPA in Texas

Origis Energy and Meta have entered into a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) for the Greyhound A solar project located in West Odessa, Texas. The project has a capacity of 303 MWdc, equivalent to 240 MWac, and is scheduled to reach commercial operations by mid-2026. Greyhound A forms part of a 1 GW broader energy infrastructure complex with a fully subscribed solar portfolio being developed by Origis Energy in west Texas.

Of the 1 GW capacity of the complex, nearly 500 MW is already operational, while the remaining capacity is expected to come online in 2026. Moreover, Origis Energy is developing additional solar and battery storage projects exceeding 1,000 MW alongside the existing solar assets. This expansion will result in the energy complex exceeding 2,000 MW in capacity, targeted to be fully operational by 2029. Collectively, the projects are expected to represent infrastructure investments of approximately $2.5 billion in Ector county and the wider west Texas region.

In December 2025, Origis Energy achieved financial close for the Swift Air Solar II and Swift Air Solar III projects in Ector County, Texas, with a combined installed capacity of 313 MWdc. The projects were supported by $290 million in senior secured debt, including construction debt, term debt, and a tax credit bridge loan arranged by Natixis Corporate and Investment Banking and Santander Corporate and Investment Banking.
