The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has issued a request for proposals for setting up inter-state transmission system (ISTS) connected 1,260 MW renewable projects, with energy storage systems (ESS) throughout India. Out of the 1,260 MW capacity, 1,250 MW will be purchased by SECI, which will be sold to BSES Rajdhani Power Limited and BSES Yamuna Power Limited in Delhi. While the remaining 10 MW will be supplied to GIFT Power Company Limited, Gujarat.
According to the tender guidelines, the bidders are required to submit an earnest money deposit of Rs 4.4 million. The bidders can offer a minimum capacity of 50 MW and a maximum capacity of 630 MW. The developer is required to sign the power purchase agreement (PPA) within 60 days of receiving letter of award. Furthermore, the project must be commissioned within 24 months of PPA being signed. The project should be integrated with ISTS substation at a voltage level of 220 kV or more. Additionally, the project should include ESS mandatorily. The developer should follow the regulations on forecasting, scheduling, settlement of deviation, as well as connectivity responsibility set by the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission or the State Electricity Regulatory Commission. The bid submission deadline is November 10, 2023.
In August 2023, the SECI floated a tender for setting up ISTS connected renewable energy projects including energy storage systems for a capacity of 800 MW.
