Jakson Green inks inaugural renewable power agreement with SECI

Jakson Green has signed its first power purchase agreement (PPA) with Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) for a utility-scale solar project. Jakson Green secured the project during SECI’s tranche XI auction for the establishment of grid-connected solar projects in India.

The company will undertake tasks such as identifying suitable land, installing and commissioning the solar PV project, obtaining required approvals, and establishing connectivity with the interstate transmission system (ISTS) network to deliver power to SECI. The project is anticipated to become operational within 18 months from the signing date of the PPA. SECI has secured power for a duration of 25 years, intended to be distributed to various distribution companies across India. The project is anticipated to produce renewable energy capable of powering approximately 100,000 households annually, leading to the reduction of nearly 188,000 metric tonnes of carbon emissions per year.

Recently, in February 2024, Jakson Green entered into its first 25 year power purchase agreement with Rajasthan Urja Vikas Nigam Limited for a 100 MW solar photovoltaic plant in Rajasthan.

In January 2024, Jakson Green and Rail Vikas Nigam Limited formed joint venture to investigate potential opportunities in solar power projects both within India and internationally.

In October 2023, a MoU was signed between Jakson Green and Deendayal Port Authority for developing a green ammonia facility at Kandla Port, Gujarat.
