Waaree Clean Energy Solutions and Zero Footprint Industries ink agreement for green hydrogen projects

Waaree Clean Energy Solutions Private Limited (Waaree), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Waaree Energies Limited, has inked an electrolyser-as-a-service (EAAS) agreement with Zero Footprint Industries Limited (ZFI). Under the terms of the agreement, Waaree will design, engineer, supply, install, commission, own, and operate a 2.5 MW alkaline electrolyser system, which will be manufactured at its Dungri plant in Gujarat. The company will supply hydrogen and oxygen to ZFI for its expansion in Uttar Pradesh under a 15-year long-term contract.

Furthermore, the project is expected to produce around 4.1 million Nm³ of green hydrogen and around 2 million Nm³ of green oxygen annually. The output will primarily serve ZFI’s existing customers across the mentha oil, chemical, steel, and pharma industries, supporting their cost-effective transition from grey hydrogen to green hydrogen.

Additionally, the companies will enter into a MoU for the supply of 50 MW of electrolysers through the EAAS route. The supply will cater to multiple decentralised small green hydrogen projects across Northern India.

Earlier this month, Waaree Energy Storage Solution Limited, a subsidiary of Waaree Energies Limited, announced plans to establish a 16 GWh lithium-ion battery gigafactory.
