TPREL commissions SJVN’s 1 GW solar project

Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL) has commissioned SJVN Limited’s 1 GW domestic content requirement-compliant solar power project situated in Rajasthan. The project utilised 2.4 million solar modules, which were manufactured at TP Solar Limited in Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu. 

Furthermore, the capacity of the project is allocated to serve key state utilities, with 500 MW assigned to Rajasthan Urja Vikas and IT Services Limited, 300 MW to Jammu & Kashmir Power Limited, and 200 MW to Uttarakhand Power Corporation Limited. In its first year of operations, the project is expected to generate nearly 2,454.84 million units of electricity.

Earlier in December 2025, TPREL inked a MoU with UCO Bank for the acceleration of rooftop solar solutions adoption in India.

Furthermore, in October 2025, TPREL inked a power purchase agreement with Tata Power Mumbai Distribution for a contracted capacity of 80 MW firm and dispatchable renewable energy project.
