Premier Energies Limited has commissioned a 7 GW N-type TOPCon G12R solar cell manufacturing facility at Naidupeta, Andhra Pradesh. The facility, spread across 101 acres, has commenced trial runs. It has been developed at a capital expenditure of Rs 32.93 billion, and has a production capacity of approximately 88,000 solar cells per hour. With this development, the company’s total solar cell manufacturing capacity has increased to 10.6 GW.
Furthermore, the facility incorporates advanced digital systems and artificial intelligence for predictive performance analysis, improved process control and precision manufacturing, while fully automated transport, packing and packaging systems enhance production efficiency and consistency. The plant is designed to accommodate upgrades to next-generation TOPCon+ technologies. and is targeting an average solar cell efficiency of approximately 25.8 per cent following stabilisation and ramp-up. Additionally, it features a zero liquid discharge system to maximise water recycling and reuse.
In September 2026, Premier Energies Limited signed a binding term sheet with RCT India, part of Germany’s RCT Group, to form a joint venture for setting up a 12 GWh battery energy storage system manufacturing facility in Telangana. The facility will be developed through Premier Energies’ subsidiary, Premier Battery Technologies Private Limited, with the first phase planned at 6 GWh.
