Africa GreenCo and AXIAN sign 200 MW solar PPA in Zambia

Africa GreenCo and AXIAN Group have signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) for the 200 MW Kudu solar project in Zambia. The project is expected to generate around 530 GWh of electricity annually once operational. Under the agreement, Africa GreenCo will purchase electricity generated by the Kudu solar plant and sell it to customers across the SAPP. Furthermore, Standard Bank Group and Stanbic Bank Zambia will provide financial support to the project as preparations for financing and construction move forward.

In June 2026, Africa GreenCo and SafiriPower signed a joint development agreement to develop a 50 MW solar photovoltaic project in Kolwezi, Lualaba Province, in the Democratic Republic of Congo. GreenCo will purchase the electricity generated and sell it to mining and industrial consumers in the DRC, using its electricity trading model to connect power generation with buyers.

In May 2026, GreenCo and Stanbic Bank Zambia Limited signed an MoU to jointly develop and implement a portfolio of renewable energy projects in Zambia under the ZamWatt programme. The partnership will combine ZESCO’s transmission network, Stanbic Bank’s financial structuring capabilities, and GreenCo’s operational expertise and energy trading capabilities.
