SAEL to set up Rs 82 billion solar manufacturing facility in Uttar Pradesh

The Sustainable and Affordable Energy for Life (SAEL) Industries Limited, through its subsidiary SAEL Solar P6 Private Limited, has announced plans to establish an integrated solar manufacturing facility in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh. The project will be set up under the jurisdiction of the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority and is scheduled to commence construction within the year.

The upcoming manufacturing facility is projected to have an annual capacity of 5 GW of solar cell production and 5 GW of solar module assembly, with an estimated total investment of Rs 82 billion, reportedly. The new plant will manufacture TOPCon solar cells, which will be assembled into solar panels on-site. Once operational, this facility will increase SAEL’s total solar manufacturing capacity to 8.5 GW.

In June 2025, SAEL Solar MHP1 Private Limited secured $132 million in debt financing from the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, New Development Bank, and Societe Generale, for a solar project in Andhra Pradesh.
