Onix Group announced signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Uttar Pradesh government. According to the MOU, Onix intends to build a 1,000 MW solar energy project in Prayagraj and a 1,000 MW wind energy generation facility in Baghpat.
Over 1,500 people are anticipated to find employment as a result of the proposed projects which are scheduled to start in 2023 and will require a proposed investment of Rs 120 billion. These projects will support the state’s intention to invest in this industry while also enhancing Uttar Pradesh’s status as a leader in renewable energy.
In March 2023, TUSCO, a joint venture company of THDC India and the Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency invited bids from consultants to prepare a feasibility-cum-detailed project report for the development of an 800 MW ultra-mega solar power park in Chitrakoot, Uttar Pradesh.
