BluPine Energy, through its special purpose vehicle Solarcraft Power India 17 Private Limited, has entered into a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI). The PPA has been signed for a 150 MW solar project integrated with energy storage in Rajasthan. The project is located in Bikaner district and was awarded under SECI’s tender to procure 2,000 MW of power from interstate transmission system-connected solar power projects with a total of 1,000 MW/4,000 MWh energy storage capacity.
Reportedly, the project is designed to deliver firm and dispatchable renewable power. The integration of energy storage aims to enhance grid stability, provide critical support during peak hours, and ensure the reliable utilisation of renewable power sources.
BluPine Energy is a renewable energy platform established in India by Actis, a global investment firm focused on sustainable infrastructure, particularly the energy, infrastructure and real estate asset classes. With an $800 million commitment from Actis’ Energy Fund 5, BluPine Energy is developing a clean energy portfolio of more than 4 GW in India.
