Aslan Energy Capital and PT Calypte Sugi Power to develop power hub in Indonesia

Aslan Energy Capital and PT Calypte Sugi Power have collaborated to create a power generation hub on Sugi Island in the Riau Islands Province, Indonesia. The project aims to establish large-scale solar and sustainable clean energy capacity in the region. The initial goal is to reach 1 GW of solar power capacity by Q3 2026, with plans to expand to 2 GW by Q4 2027.

Aslan Energy Capital is an organisation focusing on development of renewable hydrogen, ammonia, and sustainable energy projects. It partners with industry leaders to deliver energy solutions across Asia and US. PT Calypte Sugi Power is a private special-purpose vehicle dedicated to the development of power generation on Sugi Island.

In December 2023, ACWA Power collaborated with PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN), Indonesia’s state-owned power provider, and PT Pupuk Indonesia to build a green hydrogen project in Indonesia.
