CMPDI floats bids for 8.5 MW solar project in Jharkhand

The Central Mine Planning and Design Institute (CMPDI), a subsidiary of Coal India Limited has floated bids for development of a grid-connected solar power project of 8.5 MW for Central Coalfields Limited in Bokaro, Jharkhand. According to the tender guidelines, the project will be established across three locations with different capacities. It includes a Parking site, Washery site and Damodar River site with capacities of 3 MW, 4 MW, and 1.5 MW respectively.

According to the tender guidelines, the scope of work under the project includes designing, supplying, erection, commissioning and testing. The developer will also be required to look after operations and maintenance for a period of five years. The estimated cost of the project is Rs 62.9 million.

The bidders are required to submit Rs 5 million as an earnest money deposit.  The developer will be required to submit an amount of 5 per cent of the contract value as a performance security deposit within 21 days of receiving letter of award. The last date for bid submission is August 31, 2023.

In July 2023, Central Mine Planning and Design Institute was seeking bids to install 1.03 MW of solar power projects for the Central Coalfields in Jharkhand. According to the tender guidelines, rooftop systems totaling 890 kW will be installed across Amrapali (60 kW), Magadh (50 kW), Piparwar (190 kW), NK Area (310 kW), and Giridih (280 kW), as well as a ground-mounted solar project of 140 kW in Amrapali and Kathara Area.
