SJVN, Scatec India, and O2 Power win SECI’s ISTS 1.2 GW wind tender (Tranche XIII)

For Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited’s wind auction (Tranche XIII) for 1.2 GW of projects connected to the interstate transmission system (ISTS), SJVN LIMITED, Scatec ASA (Scatec India II BV), and O2 Power emerged as winners. SJVN, Scatec India and O2 Power won 100 MW, 300 MW and 200 MW quoting a tariff of Rs 2.90 per kWh, Rs 2.95 per kWh and Rs 2.95 per kWh respectively. Blupine Energy quoted 300 MW at a tariff of Rs 3.10 per kWh and EDF Renewables quoted 300 MW at Rs 3.14 per kWh. However, both of these bids were ineligible since they exceeded the L1+2 per cent tariff cut-off for each tender. The capacity allotted in the auction was 600 MW. The wind project developers will be responsible for acquiring the necessary land. The programme will only permit the deployment of certified wind turbine models that are included on the “Revised List of Models and Manufacturers” released by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy.

Earlier this month, Gensol Engineering was declared as winner in the auction to develop 30 MW floating solar projects with a bid of Rs 2.32 billion. The projects would be developed at three thermal power plants spanned across Jharkhand and West Bengal. The tender was issued by the SECI in June 2022 for developing projects at Damodar Valley Corporation’s thermal power stations in Koderma with a capacity of 6 MW, Mejia with a capacity of 14 MW, and Raghunathpur with a capacity of 10 MW.
