August Energy, an energy-as-a-service (EaaS) platform headquartered in Singapore, and Energeia, an Indian energy efficiency company, have partnered to launch August Energeia, a $100 million platform for funding and implementing energy efficiency infrastructure projects in India. The platform will focus particularly on cooling-as-a-service solutions for commercial and industrial customers across India.
Under the EaaS model, August Energeia will finance, implement and manage energy infrastructure projects, allowing factories and commercial buildings to upgrade their systems without upfront capital investment. The projects will cover cooling, heating, steam, compressed air, fuel switching and motor-driven systems, along with renewable energy solutions including solar, wind and storage.
Furthermore, August Energy will provide project structuring, business development support, and capital from institutional investors, including Aravest, Green Tower, Proparco, responsAbility, and Aseem. Energeia will contribute its capabilities in on-ground sales, project execution, IoT-based energy audits, and an AI-enabled digital platform for managing energy efficiency projects. The platform will target energy-intensive sectors such as pharmaceuticals, automotive, food and beverage, chemicals, cement, steel, hospitality, healthcare, data centres and commercial real estate, with project returns linked to the energy savings and performance delivered.
