Permanent Power Company secures financing for Grape solar and storage project in California

CIM Group’s Permanent Power Company has secured approximately $600 million in construction financing for its Grape solar and battery storage project. The project is located in California. The financing package comprises a $372.3 million construction-to-term loan, a $166.7 million tax credit transfer bridge loan, and a $61.3 million letter of credit facility.

The project includes 246.4 MWac of solar PV capacity and a 150 MW/600 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) located within Westlands Solar Park. Once operational, the project is expected to generate clean electricity to power around 86,000 California homes annually. The project will contribute to Permanent Power’s growing portfolio, which is expected to reach 1.2 GWac of solar PV and 690 MWac (2,760 MWh) of energy storage capacity.

In February 2026, Younan Company announced the development of a large utility-scale solar and battery storage project in California under Soleil Renewable Energy, LLC. The project is planned in East Kern county, on approximately 3,200 acres of owned land. It will have a solar generation capacity of 880 MWdc, equivalent to 700 MWac, paired with a 460 MW battery energy storage system. Commercial operations are targeted for mid-2028.
