Rahul Kanuganti: Managing Director and CEO, Flytta Green

Rahul Kanuganti’s professional journey has largely revolved around logistics, operations and addressing structural inefficiencies in freight movement. Over the years, he has acquired a deep understanding of how industrial transport in India operates and its dependence on conventional fuels. This exposure has helped develop his expertise in building systems that combine operational reliability with sustainability.

“As founder and CEO of Flytta, I have worked on developing logistics models that integrate electric heavy-duty vehicles into industrial and public sector use cases. We focus on route predictability, fleet utilisation and energy planning to ensure that clean mobility works under real industrial conditions,” says Kanuganti. Beyond logistics execution, his work includes contributing to discussions around industrial decarbonisation and energy alignment.

Kanuganti is particularly energised by the problem-solving aspect of the role – designing operating models where fleet utilisation, charging infrastructure and industrial throughput have to work in sync. When electrification begins to deliver both economic and environmental value at scale, the work becomes deeply meaningful for him.

Kanuganti’s leadership approach is anchored in three principles: grounded execution over boardroom theory, mission alignment, ownership culture and cross-discipline collaboration. “I spend significant time at project sites – mines, plants, charging yards – because operational truth lives on the ground. I believe teams perform best when they see the larger purpose. We operate in complex environments, so decision-making is decentralised. Leaders are empowered to solve problems in real time. Electrification requires logistics experts, energy planners, financiers and technologists to work as one unit and we structure teams accordingly,” he says.

Outside of work, Kanuganti prioritises time with family, especially his son. That time helps him stay grounded and brings balance to an otherwise high-intensity professional life. “I also spend time studying global trends across clean mobility, critical minerals and industrial energy systems. Many of my reflections outside office hours shape long-term strategic thinking for Flytta. Travel, both professional and personal, is another influence. Visiting industrial ecosystems and global climate forums offers perspective on how India can build scalable, sustainable infrastructure,” he adds.
