Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL) has invited bids for 1,000 MW/4,000 MWh of standalone battery energy storage system (BESS) capacity under its tariff-based competitive bidding (Phase-X). The tender identifies 11 substations, with cumulative grid connectivity of 1,475 MW available for the projects. The bid submission deadline is September 14, 2026.
The projects will be located near substations on Gujarat’s State Transmission Utility network, with bidders responsible for arranging the required land and interconnecting the BESS projects with the designated substations. The tender includes technical and financial qualification requirements, including a minimum net worth of Rs 10 million per MW of quoted capacity. Bidders will also be required to meet specified round-trip efficiency, availability and other technical and operational requirements throughout the project term.
Earlier this month, Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL) announced the results of its Phase IX tender for 450 MW/900 MWh of standalone battery energy storage system (BESS) capacity in Gujarat. NLC India Renewables Limited secured a capacity of 275 MW at a tariff of Rs 231,989 per MW per month. Sun Drops Energia Limited secured 175 MW at a tariff of Rs 231,990 per MW per month.
