Hecate sells 2 GW US solar-plus-storage project to Savion

Hecate Energy Group has completed the sale of its up to 2,000 MW Cereza solar and storage project to Savion. The project is located at the US Department of Energy’s Hanford Site in southeastern Washington and was originally secured by Hecate in 2024.

Under the agreement, Savion will take the lead on project development, with continued support from Hecate. The divestment expands Hecate’s portfolio of completed project sales, which now exceeds 12 GW of capacity. Additionally, the transaction contributes to a revenue backlog of more than $686 million.

In May 2025, Greenbacker Renewable Energy Company commenced construction on the Cider solar farm in Genesee County, New York. Greenbacker acquired the project from Hecate Energy and will serve as its long-term owner and operator. Early works for the project were initiated in late 2024, and Greenbacker received a $440 million tax equity commitment from US Bank and M&T Bank for the project in February 2026. The project is expected to be completed in late 2026.
