The Sandur Manganese & Iron Ores Limited has announced the commissioning of the 33 MW solar power plant, 9.9 MW wind turbine generators with associated electrical equipments at Kudligi taluk in Vijayanagara district of Karnataka. The company had signed a power purchase agreement, and share subscription and shareholders agreement with ReNew Green Energy Solutions Private Limited for supply of renewable energy.
The scope of work involved the construction of 33 MW solar power plant and 3X3300 KW, 9.9 MW wind turbine generators, along with associated electrical equipment interconnecting the power with Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Limited grid. Sandur Manganese & Iron Ores has achieved its objective to procure power at a cheaper cost for operating all three existing furnaces of the ferro-alloy plant and other expansion activities at Vyasankere in Hosapete taluk, Vijayanagara district of Karnataka.
The commissioning of the renewable energy projects signifies the company’s commitment to sustainable practices and reducing its carbon footprint. By utilising solar and wind energy, Sandur Manganese & Iron Ores aims to contribute to a cleaner and greener energy future while meeting its power requirements for its operations. Further, this development aligns with the company’s compliance with Regulation 30 of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.
